What is KP-RETP?

KP-RETP is a project implemented by the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in partnership with the International Fund for Agriculture Development (IFAD). The project aims to address the main causes of rural poverty and food insecurity in the province, such as low productivity, inefficient production system, weak linkages to supply chains, youth and women unemployment in rural areas, and limited access to economic services for small land holders.

The project has four main components:

• Component 1: Strengthening the institutional capacity and governance of the rural development sector
• Component 2: Enhancing the productivity and competitiveness of the agricultural value chains
• Component 3: Promoting employment and entrepreneurship opportunities for rural youth and women
• Component 4: Improving the resilience and adaptation of rural communities to climate change and environmental challenges

What are the job opportunities in KP-RETP?

The project is looking to hire dynamic and competent human resources for the following positions:

1. Manager Employment and Job Placement (BPS-18):

• Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement strategies to enhance employability and job placement of rural youth and women.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders like private sector, training institutes, and government agencies for effective collaboration.
• Qualifications:
  • Minimum 16 years of education in Public Administration or Human Resources.
• Experience:
  • At least 10 years in supporting project implementation, focusing on youth workforce development, entrepreneurship, and soft skills development.

2. Manager Gender/ Nutrition/ Environment & Climate Change (BPS-18):

• Responsibilities:
  • Ensure mainstreaming of gender, nutrition, and environmental and climate change aspects in project activities.
  • Provide technical guidance on cross-cutting issues to project staff and partners.
• Qualifications:
  • Minimum 16 years of education in Gender, Nutrition, or Environmental Sciences (Climate Change).
• Experience:
  • At least 10 years in climate change-related projects/programs, preferably in the agriculture sector.

3. Regional Coordinator (BPS-18):

• Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage project activities and operations in the assigned region.
  • Establish effective coordination with government departments, community organizations, private sector, and development partners.
• Qualifications:
  • Minimum 16 years of education in Social Sciences.
• Experience:
  • At least 10 years in conducting institutional or organizational reviews, formulating policies and procedures, and implementing capacity building reforms, preferably in the agriculture sector.

4. Institutional Development Officer (BPS-17):

• Responsibilities:
  • Support project component 1 in strengthening the institutional capacity and governance of the rural development sector.
  • Assist in conducting assessments, developing capacity building plans, and facilitating policy dialogue and reform process.
• Qualifications:
  • Minimum 16 years of education in Human Resources, Rural Development, or Public Administration.
• Experience:
  • At least 5 years in conducting institutional or organizational reviews, formulating policies and procedures, and implementing capacity building reforms, preferably in the agriculture sector.
